{"id":33653,"date":"2023-03-17T15:07:28","date_gmt":"2023-03-17T07:07:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lkcc.com.au\/cms\/?p=33653"},"modified":"2023-06-20T14:29:19","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T06:29:19","slug":"daisy-savage-bowl-womens-opening-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test07.miclub.com.au\/cms\/2023\/03\/17\/daisy-savage-bowl-womens-opening-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Daisy Savage Bowl \u2013 Women\u2019s Opening Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">To give you some history of this premiere event, in 1928, Daisy Savage was invited by Keith Barker, the Lake Karrinyup Country Club Capta<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; letter-spacing: 0px; text-align: justify;\">in, to become a Foundation Member\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">of the club.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\"> She was elected the first Lady Captain at LKCC in 1930. After WWII, when the Club was returned to the members, Daisy worked very hard on the social side to make the Club popular once again. In 1955, she handed down her Foundation Membership to her eldest daughter, Audrey James who was a member of LKCC until her death at the age of 100 in December 2013.\u00a0 Daisy\u2019s granddaughter, Valerie Lapinski is an esteemed member of LKCC and has proudly presented her grandmother\u2019s trophy since 2014.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; box-sizing: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">This year, Valerie was once again proud to present our winners of this major event.\u00a0 149 Female Members played in the fourball event on the main course, the outright winners on a fantastic score of 46 points were Marie Intini and Elizabeth Black. Well done to Laurel Meyers and Rebecca Peers falling just 1 point short on 45 points to claim Runner Up spot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; box-sizing: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">40 Female Members played 18 holes on the North Course.\u00a0Sally Meadows and Christine Glenister were very proud to accept their trophy from Valerie, with a fantastic score of 45 points beating Louise Dickson and Pat Stapledon on countback. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">This year mark four 50 year female member milestones, Lyn Meadows, Jean Williams, Leone Lorian and Wendy Dorrington collected their 50 year silver badges, congratulations to these four empowering women. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; box-sizing: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">130+ very well-dressed Female Members had a delightful meal following presentations in the main bar.
