On Sunday the 30th<\/sup> of October, 40 well respected Lake Karrinyup Members made the trip down the coast to play a friendly Four-ball match against rivals from Cottesloe Golf Club in the annual visit between the two clubs. There is a long standing tradition between Lake Karrinyup and Cottesloe, with the annual visit between the two clubs dating back to 1938.<\/p>\n

The day started off with a magnificent meal in the club house and a friendly welcome from the home club. The format of the day was Four- ball Par, the pair who finished with the highest score was to be declared the winner of each individual match.<\/p>\n

The conditions throughout the day made for some interesting golf. Gusty winds and patches of rain made the Cottesloe layout a challenging and daunting task with many players struggling with their game throughout the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Post golf presentations were held in the clubhouse and were well attended. The club toastmasters did a fantastic job in illustrating the friendly rivalry and friendships which are held between the two clubs. Many thanks must go to Steve Seward who did a fantastic job at entertaining those in attendance and voicing Lake Karrinyup\u2019s appreciation of the hospitality shown by Cottesloe Golf Club.<\/p>\n

The end result of the day was a 11 \u00bd \u00a0to 9 \u00bd victory to see Lake Karrinyup successfully defend the title away from home. Cottesloe Captain Steve Nottage had the privilege of presenting a very proud David Anderson the \u2018Good Fellowship Mug\u2019 which will rest with Lake Karrinyup for another year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
