The 2014 President’s Trophy played on Saturday the 5th of July produced a healthy field of 235 members who were all looking to win the fantastic prize donated by President Jim Crockett. The perfect weather conditions were a welcome sight for players and a number of members took full advantage. Eric Isaachsen benefited from the calm morning conditions producing an impressive score of +5. Although many afternoon players came close, no one could quite chase down Eric’s score. Following golf was an acknowledgment of Jim Crockett’s many contributions to Lake Karrinyup and the presentation of his Prize to the deserving victor Eric Isaachsen.
Following a great day on the golf course, President Jim Crockett hosted a wonderful evening of French dining and entertainment. Over 150 members were taken on a journey through France in celebration of the French National Day ‘Bastille Day’. A fantastic night was enjoyed by all in attendance the they were spoilt for choice with a carefully selected list of French wines, mouth-watering French inspired meal and array of French pastries, cheeses, jams & desserts. Welcomed in style attendees posed for photos on the red carpet, were entertained by a mime artist and enjoyed a Kir Royale cocktail upon transition into the ‘Bastille Day’ inspired room. There was never a dull moment with talented member James Paxton kicking off the entertainment followed by the ladies “Golf Bags” group’s impromptu with some French tunes and band Purple Haze taking the night away. The line for the caricature was put at ease with people grabbing a prop and striking a pose for the camera or risking their head in the Guillotine. A fantastic night was enjoyed by all at the 2014 President’s Dine In Evening and we can’t wait for the event to come around again.
