GOOD FELLOWSHIP TROPHY

On Sunday the 2nd April, 64 well respected Lake Karrinyup Members played a friendly Four-ball match against rivals from Cottesloe Golf Club in the annual visit between the two clubs. There is a long-standing tradition between Lake Karrinyup and Cottesloe, with the annual visit between the two clubs dating back to 1938.

The day started off with a magnificent meal in the club house and a friendly welcome from the President Geoff Anderson and Captain Stephen Moloney. The format of the day was Four- ball Par, the pair who finished with the highest score was to be declared the winner of each individual match.

The conditions throughout the day were perfect and a reflection of the scoring from both Clubs. Lake Karrinyup’s John Pember & Niall Myles had the best score of the day with +11. Mark O’Donoghue & Stephen Quantrill providing the best Cottesloe score of +8.

Presentations were held in the members bar following play and club toastmasters did a fantastic job in illustrating the friendly rivalry and friendships which are held between the two clubs. Many thanks must go to Nick Curnow who did a fantastic job at entertaining those in attendance.

The end result of the day was a 22 ½  to 9 ½ victory to see Lake Karrinyup successfully re-claim the trophy after losing to Cottesloe in 2022. Cottesloe Captain Gary Harle had the privilege of presenting a very proud Stephen Moloney the ‘Good Fellowship Mug’ which will rest with Lake Karrinyup for another year.

The overall tally is separated by just 1 win now, Cottesloe (33) & Lake Karrinyup (32).

Well done to all the staff that helped deliver another fantastic edition of the Good Fellowship Trophy.
